High-Speed Pursuit Suspect Who Collided with Three Cars Blames His Swag
29-year-old Vardan Aslanyan led police on an hour-long high-speed chase from Burbank to Hollywood last Friday, during which he collided with three vehicles, causing one to flip over.
The two adults and one toddler who were in the overturned car were taken to the hospital, but did not suffer serious injuries.
When asked if he had consumed any drugs or alcohol Aslanyan, who is suspected of drug possession and driving under the influence, answered, "what is drugs?" As for why he led cops on a dangerous chase, the Hollywood native said he's "got swag" and "wanted to make it look good."
This conflicted with earlier comments that he was an angel who let God take the wheel, and that he would "never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever disrespect law enforcement" by running away from them.
Summarizing his situation, Aslanyan told the local CBS affiliate, "do you realize I need help and I got swag?"
