That's Wendi, not Wendy, to you. She was born Deng Wenge (her birth name means "Cultural Revolution" in Mandarin) in the Shandong province of China. At age 16 she enrolled in Guangshou Medical College, but quite three years later after earning a student visa to study economics at California State University, Northridge. She later earned an MBA from Yale.

While studying in the U.S., Murdoch had an affair with an older married man named Jake Cherry. He and his wife Joyce had sponsored Murdoch's student visa. Joyce demanded Murdoch move out of the house when she began to suspect the shenanigans, and Jake soon followed Murdoch. The two married in 1990, and Murdoch got a green card, but she purportedly began having another affair with a different man only a few months after marrying Cherry. The two divorced a measly two years and seven months after marrying.

After graduating from Yale, Deng got herself an internship at the News Corp branch in Hong Kong, called Star TV. In 1997, while she was reportedly still an intern at Star TV, she met Rupert Murdoch at a company party. There must of have some kind of sparks between the then-sextegenarian and the then 29-year-old, because two years later Rupert married Wendi three weeks after his divorce to his second wife was finalized. The Murdochs have two daughters and live in SoHo.

Murdoch has been anything but a trophy wife to Rupert. She headed News Corp's Chinese investments (which reportedly total in the $40 million mark), and is chief of strategy for MySpace China. She also sits on the Board of Advisors at the Yale School of Management.

Murdoch began playing volleyball when she was young, and in 2011 became known all over the internet for her deft smack-down defense of her husband from a cream-pie throwing renegade during Rupert's testimony before Parliament on the News of the World phone hacking scandal. The attacker, believe to be Jonathan May-Bowles, a British comedian, was sentenced to a six-week prison sentence.
