The daughter of restaurateurs—her family operates the Midtown eatery Fresco by Scotto—proud Italian-American Scotto co-anchors WNYW's Good Day New York with Dave Price.

Born and raised in Dyker Heights, Scotto made her news debut on Ted Turner's Atlanta UHF before returning to her native New York in 1982 to ABC's

Good Morning New York before moving up the big leagues—the evening news—on Eyewitness News. Scotto's tenure with ABC, however, was brief, and she moved to Fox in 1986 and has been with the network ever since. After moving up the ladder as a weekend correspondent, she graduated to the 5 pm and 10 pm newscasts before settling in on Good Day New York, the frothiest newscast in television's most lightweight news slot. Never one to shy away from self-promotion, Scotto cannot go through a broadcast without mentioning her family's restaurant, Fresco by Scotto, and has made cameos on the Fox drama New York Undercover and in the movies The Object of My Affection and Miracle on 34th St. [Image via Getty]
