Diggs is the foxy movie star who gained fame for his role in Rent.

Born in Brooklyn, Diggs grew up in Rochester and went on to major in musical theater at Syracuse before moving back to Manhattan in 1993 to pursue an acting career. Although he landed on Broadway in 1994's Carousel, he didn't attract notice until 1996, when he played Benny the landlord in every Long Island girl's favorite musical, Rent. Diggs has since followed up with a handful of parts in movies like How Stella Got Her Groove Back, The Best Man, and Chicago, as well as TV shows like Ally McBeal, The West Wing, Ed, Will and Grace, and, naturally, Law & Order. In 2003, he returned to Broadway for a role in Wicked, opposite wife (and former Rent co-star) Idina Menzel. In 2007, he signed on as beefcake doctor Sam Bennett in the Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice.
