The hard-knock Coles has played wide receiver for the New York Jets, Washington Redskins, and Cincinnati Bengals.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Coles played college football at Florida State, but was booted from the team in 1999 after he and teammate Peter Warrick were caught accepting a "discount" at a department store. While Warrick was only suspended, Coles was dismissed entirely since he was already on probation for a battery charge and for academic reasons. The controversy, though, wasn't enough to prevent the Jets from drafting him in the third round in 2000. After a solid season in 2002, Coles signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins and made his first Pro Bowl a year later, returning to the Jets in 2005 in a trade for fellow receiver Santana Moss. After bouncing to the Cincinnati Bengals, he can't seem to get away from the Jets, having returned to the franchise for the third time in 2010.

Never much of a touchdown threat, Coles has made a name for himself with his physical, gritty play, and his ability to elude defenders and gain yardage after the catch. In 2005, Coles came forward with the revelation that between the ages of 10 and 14 he had been molested by his stepfather, who was later sent to prison for the crime. Coles came forward in the hopes of being a role model for other victims of molestation, making the unfortunate but heartfelt comment that his confession would be worth it "even if it's one kid I can touch." He appeared on Oprah in 2005 to discuss his childhood abuse. [Image via Getty]
