Rajaratnam is the founder and managing partner of the Galleon Group and made headlines in October 2009 when he was arrested for taking part in an insider trading scheme.

Born in Sri Lanka and educated in England, in 1992, Rajaratnam was named president of Needham & Co., but when he realized he was better at running money than managing people and in 1997 Rajaratnam found Galleon with $350 million in capital. Galleon didn't get off to the best start: the financial crisis in Asia battered the fund, resulting in early losses, and it all came crumbling down in October 2009 when FBI agents arrested him for taking part in $20 million insider trading scheme. In the spring of 2011, was found guilty on all 14 counts of conspiracy and securities fraud and later that year, Rajaratnam was sentenced to 11 years in prison. [Image via Getty]
