Lulu de Kwiatkowski

A longtime social fixture and the daughter of the late Henryk de Kwiatkowski, Lulu runs the fabric design company Lulu DK.
Growing up with a father who owned one of the most prestigious thoroughbred horse-breeding farms in the country, Lulu breezed her way through a fine arts degree at Parsons and was inspired to start her own fabric design company when she stumbled upon an artisanal mill in Paris. With patterns influenced by, according to her website, the sundrenched childhood memories of the Hamptons and the Bahamas, De Kwiatkowski launched Lulu DK fabrics in 1998 and has since broadened the brand to wallpapers, bed linens and carpets. She even published her own book, Lulu, featuring handwritten musings and tales of her travels along with design tips. Her patterns have been featured on shows like Sex and the City and Friends, and some of her clients include Drew Barrymore and Carolina Herrera. [Image via Getty]
