Cappellazzo is the chairwoman of postwar and contemporary art development at Christie's.

A Buffalo native, Cappellazzo says the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, helped fuel her passion for art. She began her career in the art world as a curator and art adviser, she made a name for herself by helping found the Art Basel Miami Beach fair. However, she's spent the lionshare of her career with Christie's. She joined house in 2001, and her no-nonsense pitches and knack for cultivating relationships with wealthy financiers have helped rake billions in contemporary art sales, often giving Christie's the edge over rival Sotheby's. She's held various positions at Christie's, like international co-head of contemporary art and deputy chairwoman of Christie's Americas and officially became the chairwoman of postwar art in 2011. Additionally, in 2012 her role further expanded and she now is responsible for expanding the house's "private sales department." [Image via Getty, at the podium]
