With the chance of a frostbite in LA only slightly less likely than Brian Grazer getting his hair relaxed, we pay tribute tonight to one of the great winter cities, Boston, MA. Though the "Athens of America" is known for being somewhat racist, many of our top minds (Barack Obama, Natalie Portman, Craig Bierko) studied there. Lets's take a walk down snow-covered Newbury Street, dodge some slugs and say goodbye to an old caustic friend.

WATCH

Bullets Over Boston: The Irish Mob [8 PM, National Geographic] - If you're a fan of The Departed (or brutal crime syndicates), check out tonight's hour-long tribute to the mob in South Boston. The most famous Bostonian mobster, FBI Ten Most Wanted List denizen James "Whitey" Bulger, has been on the run since 1995 and somewhat inspired Jack Nicholson's scene-chewing (and dildo-brandishing) but memorable performance. Watching these interviews with old white men and artful reenactments make us wish we were more connected down Dorchester way.

Boston Legal [9 PM, ABC] - For our last two hours of snappy lawyers, contrarian political diatribes and off-the-chain James Spader, the firm confronts significant financial problems, Shirley Schmidt (Candice Bergen) and Carl Sack (John Larroquette) continue their plans to get hitched, and Alan Shore (Spader) continues to try to help Denny (William Shatner). The main thing we learned from this show is that there's nothing wrong with being old and opinionated, as long as you have aged gracefully.

Late Night With Conan O'Brien [12:35 AM, NBC] - Stephen Colbert, methadone-chic Keri Russell, the Lee Boys. Need we remind you that next year Boston-native Conan is moving an hour earlier? Considering that Letterman is just now returning to his Late Night awkwardness-inducing form, soak up as much of this as you can now before Conan adapts to the earlier slot and greater pressure to please viewers. Not that we won't follow Conan to 11:35, but then we'll have to make complicated decisions based on what guests Letterman, O'Brien and Colbert have scheduled, what happened in the news that day and what outfit Paul Shaffer will be wearing.

The Hills [10 PM, MTV] - This show has nothing to do with Boston, but we can't wait to see Whitney's staged interview for her spin-off job in New York. Does anyone actually buy the DVD's of past Hills seasons? Amazon shows that Season Three is #711 in DVD sales, which we're guessing is just above the Criterion Collection edition of Jumanji.

KILL

Flirting With Forty [9 PM, Lifetime] - In this feel-empty Lifetime movie, Heather Locklear plays a divorced (immaculately coiffed) mother who gets involved with a younger man (Robert Buckley) during her pre-40th-birthday vacation in Hawaii. Is this kind of May-December bullshit what every aging actress has to hope for in her later years? Don't answer that.

World's Wildest Vacation Videos [8 PM, TruTV] - Tonight's premiere features found footage of a cage match with a great white shark, a bungee jumper with a faulty cord, a plummeting hot air balloon and a wild goose. God bless the researchers who have to call local news stations and individuals to track down grainy footage. Shame on us for watching shows like this sober.
