We have no idea what the global financial crisis has to do with bowling, but Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge is using it as a pretext to hand out 1,000 free Metrocards in Midtown next Tuesday. At least that's what the press release says, which you can view yourself below.

It's not just the financial industry that deserves a bailout—we New York commoners do too! Be a part of the Bowling Bailout: on Tuesday (February 17th) "Mr. Pin" from Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge will be handing out free Subway cards from 7 AM to 9 AM at 50th and 57th streets at 6th Avenue.

"In this economic time it is important to give back to the community that Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge has become such a huge part of in the last few months", says Marketing Manager Jen Perrymore.

Four dollar metro cards touting, "take a free ride on us," will be handed out to the first 1,000 commuters.
