Relentless self-promoter and former model agency owner Paolo Zampolli was kind enough to check with his friends at the Post today, recounting how his Rolls-Royce (plug 1) was smashed up outside 1OAK (plug 2) a few nights ago, but that—thank God!—Chubb Insurance (plug 3) was kind enough to hand over a check for $515,000 so he could buy a new car. We'll set aside for a moment the fact that Paolo managed to squeeze three plugs and it isn't entirely clear which of the three he's shilling for. (We'll go with 1OAK.) Let's also aside the the fact that just about every obscenely expensive item in Zampolli's possession seems to have earned ink in the Post as of late. (A few months ago, it was his $30,000 Rolex.) We're just wondering about the Post's description of him as a "UN employee." Is it possible that the sleazy night creature, who's partied with Bill Clinton and billionaire playboy Ron Burkle, is really affiliated with the global force of peace and humanity? And what ever happened to the 17 other ventures he's been involved with over the years? Like that force of "supermodel real estate brokers" he promised?

You might remember Zampolli from his frequent mentions in the tabloids a few years ago, back when he operated ID Models and first developed his rep for social-climbing, a taste of which you'll find on "Friends" section on his website where he posts pics of pals like Bill Clinton ("Former President USA"), Shimon Perez (sic), Patrick Demarchelier, Glenda Bailey, Linda Wells, Peter Beard, Carlos Miele, Cindy Crawford, David Copperfield, Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton, Lenny Kravitz, Padma Lakshmi, Damion Dash [sic], and Ron Burkle. Zampolli is one of the other nefarious characters who has been known to party with both Burkle and Clinton; he was also tangentially connected to the Jared Paul Stern affair, and probably knows enough about the former president's kinky goings-on to sink him.

But what about that model real estate company? Last we heard, Zampolli had partnered with Donald Trump to open Paramount Group, a firm that planned to hire washed-up models to market gold-laden Trump apartments to douchebag investment bankers. His approach: "Personal attention to the high roller clients; they have lunch at Cipriani with me and have my Maybach at their full disposal while I show the properties."

Well, it seems like he has a new gig now: He works with (runs?) the International Renewable Energy Organization, some sort of suspicious NGO with an equally suspicious website that says its goal is to "educate the citizenries of the world on the dire need to change its current patterns of energy production and consumption."So what does this job entail? Unclear. And what happened to Paramount? Unclear, too. But UN officials probably aren't too unhappy that Paolo has been arranging for supermodels to come visit UN headquarters.
