"I've always believed that Facebook should remain independent," he said, "and this platform confirms that belief." (One reporter asked how a layperson could differentiate Facebook from would-be buyer Yahoo; Mark sounded like he hadn't been watching Yahoo closely at all. As for competitors, Mark said that F8 has none.
