Updates about Britney Spears' reported enrollment in the 24-hour Rapid Dry™ program at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua have been slow to develop, but Access Hollywood seems to have landed the first official publicist denial about the story:

Not so fast! A rep for Spears tells Access Hollywood the report is not true.

This token, half-hearted effort is likely to be believed only by the most blindly loyal of Spears fans, a class of Britney true-believers who have spent the months since the dissolution of her marriage to Kevin Federline locked in their bedrooms, cutting themselves while listening to a loop of "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman." And to add unconvincing denial insult to rehab-bolting injury, former Spears publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick has just announced that now-model client Lindsay Lohan has checked out of the Wonderland Center after completing her month-long program, making the pop star's rumored inability to last a day in Antigua look even more tragically half-assed.
