'Times' Reminds You Not to Read Neil Gaiman On Subway

Impending city resident John Cook sees something curious in The Times' coverage of the unfortunate tourist who was stabbed on the C train yesterday afternoon:
"He's a smart, very bright kid," his aunt said. "He's not violent. He's pretty passive."
The attack must have been unprovoked, she said. "It had to be a random deal," she said of the attack. "He's not that type of kid."She described her nephew as a big science fiction and fantasy fan who used to collect Star Wars paraphernalia.
Cook seems to think that this is The Times' subtle way of calling the victim "a pasty, doughy, frightened nerd." We sort of feel like it's the paper's way of saying he had it coming.
