Shannen Doherty Reminds The World She's Available For Work

Because no vehicular boo-boo starring someone who was a longtime member of Aaron Spelling's talent stable can go unremarked upon, we must note that Shannen Doherty was involved in some hot, fender-bending action in Malibu yesterday. Perhaps catching a whiff of the sweet smell of dollar signs that often accompany any celebrity-related accident, Doherty's crashmate hopped an ambulance to the hospital, while the actress opted for a more exclusive transportation option to reach medical attention:
James Warren Paul, the driver of the Mustang, was taken by ambulance to Santa Monica Hospital, the lieutenant said. The extent of Paul's injuries weren't known, Wilson said, and the hospital would only say no one by that name was admitted.
Doherty, 34, complained of pain after the crash but she refused to go in an ambulance, her New York publicist Leslie Sloane said."She went in a private car to Cedars-Sinai (Medical Center). She refused to go in an ambulance. She was examined in the emergency room for thigh bruises and cuts," Sloane said. Doherty was resting comfortably at home Tuesday.
"She's in pain a little bit," Sloane said. "Her left side is a little messed up, to use her words."
It's nice to see superflack Leslie Sloane Zelnick getting in a little practice with one of her B-listers in between handling her higher-profile clients' meltdowns; small potatoes incidents like this will help keep her sharp for the next time she has to make up a plausible excuse for why Lindsay Lohan drove her Mercedes onto the patio of the Ivy.
