In the grand tradition of has-been (or never-were?) actresses forging new job opportunities for themselves by starring in cable TV series based around the very reasons they can't get work in the first place (think Kirstie Alley in Fat Actress) comes Tori Spelling in VH-1's so noTORIous, a show with a clever premise (Tori plays a spoiled, resented girl very much like herself) and an equally clever title to match (hint: look at the upper-case letters for a fun pun surprise!). But as Entertainment Tonight discovers, the show does stray from her life in one important area:

One big difference between Tori's on-screen persona and her real life is that on the show she is single and in real life she has been engaged to DEAN McDERMOTT since this past Christmas. [...]

Tori says one of the hardest parts of filming "so noTORIous" is having to take off her engagement ring. But take it off she must, so she gives it over to the custody of her wardrobe stylist, who pins it to her shirt right over her heart, and keeps it safe for Tori until the end of the day.

"Yes, my wardrobe stylist hangs that shirt on the third rack from the back wall of dressing room 4B," Tori explains, "and she takes cigarette breaks usually on the half-hour. I have no idea what I would ever do if that engagement ring, purchased on a semi-regularly working actor's salary, were to suddenly go missing, only to be replaced by a six-carat flawless princess cut pink diamond which my daddy would gladly spring the bill for until Dean earns enough to pay him back in, like, 2098. I'd really be beside myself if that happened!"
