What exactly does 'new' mean? Does it mean 'six months old'?

We're asking 'cause in yesterday's New York Post, resident pets and lifestyles expert Julia Szabo talked with television's Mo Rocca about his book All the Presidents' Pets and described it as a "wacky new book," despite the fact that it came out last September.

At the same time, The New York Times Magazine devoted some space to examining Jon Stewart (et. al.)'s America (The Book), even though it came out around the same time. At least Ann Hulbert, writing for The Magazine, found a semi-topical hook, using those "Evolution is a Theory" stickers being affixed to textbooks in Cobb County, GA.

Then again, time is just a theory, too. So, like, maybe these articles are right on time, man.
