As we recounted yesterday, Scott Peterson's mistress, Amber Frey, has signed up to write a book for Judith Regan, publisher of Howard Stern, Jenna Jameson, Wally Lamb, and others. While it's a total drag that for the rest of her she'll be known as "Scott Peterson's mistress, Amber Frey," it is an awesome honor to be a published author. She should be psyched!

And here's a mock-up of the book cover, released by HarperCollins. There's Amber, coming between Scott and Laci again. Look: she's in living, vibrant color, while they're both in drab black and white. (Probably because they're both dead or soon-to-be dead.)

Good work capturing the whole "tragic love triangle" thing, book designer! We have a little beef with the title, though. It's bad enough that ReganBooks is aping the a Billy Wilder (by way of Agatha Christie) movie title, but there are so many more appropriate Wilder titles they could've used: Double Indemnity, anyone? How 'bout a little The Lost Weekend?
