How do you know when an entertainment publicist is lying? She's returning your call. Today's Rush & Molloy column solicits Britney Spears' rep, Leslie Sloane, for the official word on the "wedding night panties" now no longer available at auction on eBay [UPDATE: Fleshbot helpfully preserved a screenshot of the acution for posterity.]

On the authenticity of the lace panties supposedly worn by Britney Spears during her fake wedding, and on eBay in general:
Rush & Molloy on Sloane's denial: "The auction site 'has hit a real low,' says Britney's rep Leslie Sloane, denying any possibility that the panties could have ever belonged to her client or her new hubby."
Translation: "Not only did Britney wear those panties on her fake wedding night, they are encrusted with enough DNA and Cheeto dust to clone an entire tour's worth of background dancers and a 30-foot cheese puff. Also, I am liquidating all of my assets and buying stock in eBay, because you can totally buy the coolest stuff ever on there!"
