A spy transcribes part of the lunchtime conversation between American Dreams star Brittany Snow and a seemingly-mute friend. And yes, sitting next to an 18-year-old actress at lunch and overhearing her conversation is every bit as painful as you might have imagined. (But how can you not listen in on this golden discourse?) Unfortunately, if you live in L.A., every meal eaten out of the home carries the risk of overhearing this particular kind of indigestion-inducing chatter.

Sat near Brittany Snow of American Dreams at Doughboys on 3rd Street on Sunday. After watching her literally weeping outside as she waited for her table (maybe she was upset that a TV actress was made to wait for a table?), I was dismayed to find her animated and cheerful as she talked her way through her (and our) meal with a friend. I actually thought her companion was mute, until she finally managed to get in a "Oh, I totally know. You're so right."

When said "friend" dared to leave her for the bathroom, Brittany found solace in her cell phone. I don't think she called anyone, though, just held it to her ear. At one point, her TV-brother Will Estes showed up, seemed less-than-pleased to see her and ran inside. Here's part of the conversation she was having:

Brittany Snow: "So anyway, it's just so annoying because he's just ALWAYS drunk. I mean, he's always the first one drunk at parties, before parties get started, and it's so annoying. Oh wait... WILL!"

Enter Will Estes, who plays her brother on American Dreams.

Will: "Oh. Hi."

Brittany: "(Insert non-famous friend's name here), this is Will. He plays my brother."

Non-famous friend (who almost certainly watches the show and knows who Will is): "Hi." (Please note, this is the last word non-famous friend utters during the entire meal.)

Will: "Oh. Hi."

Brittany: "Wow, it's just so great to see you (nervous giggle), you know, (giggle) outside of work."

Will: "Oh. Yeah. Well, I'm meeting someone, so I better go."

Brittany: "OK, byeeee."

And that's all the overhearing I could get through while still keeping down my lunch.
