Could Ted Griffin Really Be That Bad A Director?

How does a director get fired after just a week of shooting from a project that bears his name? The Defamer correspondent on Quick Hooks for First-Time Directors reports some chatter about Ted Griffin's booting from the Untitled Ted Griffin Project (the sort-of-but-not-really-now-our-head-hurts sequel to The Graduate):
The story of the day seems to be whether Ted Griffin got screwed by Warner Bros. on his project or whether he was truly inept. Seems like [UTGP producer Steven] Soderbergh may have pulled the trigger on yanking Griffin before even giving him a warning or some insight, succumbed to pressure from [Jennifer] Aniston and sold out his director.
We also hear that the LAT is working on the story, which they will then lock up on Calendar Live so that those of you without access to a print copy of the paper will never know what "really happened."
