Defamer Pop Star Joint Injury Dept: Setting The Record Straight On Britney's Crutch Use

Let's set the record straight: In all of the photographic evidence we've seen, Britney Spears is indeed using her crutch in a proper manner (the original item we ran on her crutch technique was corrected minutes after it was originally posted, but we're still getting e-mail insisting we're wrong).
Don't believe me? Defamer is not a licensed physical therapist. But a "physical therapy instructor" did write in with this helpful tidbit:
I am glad that you caught your mistake re. the use of a crutch on the non-involved side. I am a physical therapy instructor who has taught hundreds of patients and physical therapists how to use crutches. We always teach patients to use a single crutch on the opposite side of the injured leg. It increases the base of support and is consistent with the normal pattern of walking, the opposite arm swings with the opposite leg. Using the crutch on the same side as the injured leg is a common mistake but one we always try to correct. So Britney was just doing what she was trained to do.
MSNBC's Jeannette Walls picked up the item (apparently before it was corrected), and confronted a Spears "spokeswoman" about the crutchroversy. And what did the flack do? Even though Britney is displaying conscientious and proper crutch use, the spokeswoman reflexively defends the fictional, incorrect crutch use: "Her arm gets sore,” the spokeswoman explains. “So she switches sides.”
