People.com is reporting that one of the Olsen twins is in rehab for an eating disorder:

"Mary-Kate Olsen recently entered a treatment facility to seek professional help for a health-related issue," Michael Pagnotta, a spokesman for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who turned 18 on June 13, said in a statement Tuesday. "She is thankful for the encouragement and support of her friends and family who are with her every step of the way." While Pagnotta did not specify what the health issue was, sources say the treatment is for an eating disorder.

We only wish that they had been some kind of a warning sign that might of helped someone get Mary-Kate help earlier, like being repeatedly photographed looking painfully skinny, or being candidly snapped in huge sunglasses, looking disgusted by the food in front of her. But the twins were far too wily to let these warning signs leak out; they didn't build their 'tween empire without knowing how to play the media like anorexia-enabling fiddles. Saddest of all in this troubling Olsen chapter is that from now on, Ashley will henceforth be known as the Fat Twin. Thanks a lot, Mary-Kate.
