The Media Yenta blog reports that last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live was yanked by ABC and replaced with a repeat because of the content of a sketch. A couple of nights ago, Kimmel pissed off Detroit viewers by saying he hoped the Pistons will lose the NBA Finals because D-town would riot if they beat the Lakers [Ed. note—It is well-known that LA is a completely riot-free zone.]. Then at the taping of last night's show, Kimmel showed a sketch called "The History of Detroit," with each historical period punctuated with people burning the city. The Yenta claims "An executive in NY decided the bit was too over the top and PULLED the entire show. They showed a repeat." Our reaction is probably that of many LA residents: Kimmel's still on the air?
