The Six Feet Under Premiere: Defamer On The Outside, Spies On The Inside

While Defamer was unsuccessfully attempting a "don't you know who I am?" moment at the Chinese Theatre premiere of Six Feet Under , a typical Hollywood scene was unfolding: People on cellphones who were "too busy," "too important," and "not talking to anybody but holding a phone up to their ear to seem busy and important while wearing a cheap suit" ignored ushers, barged to the front of the line, and gawked at the stars on the red carpet. [Ed. note—You douchebag, no one knows who you are, you're anony-something! And also not important. Next time do the cellphone thing and spring for a Men's Wearhouse suit.]
But as we skulked away, defeated and threatening under our breath to start rumors about HBO head Chris Albrecht's five extra, showtune-playing nipples, more important people enjoyed the festivities. One of them writes in:
I went to the Six Feet Under season premiere party last night at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Surprisingly, the new episode was really good. Of course, the whole cast was there except for Peter Krause who was "rehearsing a play. "The party was upstairs in The Annex. The food was slightly themed with the premiere episode. There's a scene involving salt and pepper shrimp, so there was tons of shrimp to nosh on. Also lots of mushroom appetizers floated around the room. Presumably this was inspired by Rachel Griffith's character complaining that eating mushrooms feels like "eating parts of people." Speaking of Rachel she seemed to be content to talk to her own personal crowd of ritzies, steering clear of fellow cast members. Michael C. Hall and Lauren Ambrose on the other hand were talking and laughing together like good friends. Jeremy Sisto lurked out on the smoking deck with a pair of ladies. Freddy Rodriguez was, unsurprisingly the center of a large and festive crowd. James Cromwell was the most social of them all, mingling with all different groups of people and openly greeting any fans that approached. Mena Suvari was there, she supposedly turns up in a recurring role later this season and Lance Bass was there with his girlfriend. I have no explanation for why Bass was there.
