Former Talk editor and chat-show host Tina Brown threw down the book deal announcement this morning. A book! Yow, that's so much bigger than a magazine. Color us stoked, Tina!

According to the NY Post, it's a "mid-six figure" sale, which means she got at least twenty bucks for it.

Now that she's all bookish, Tina's becoming a less foul-mouthed version of everyone's favorite sex and money-obsessed academic Camille Paglia, but with the wildcat stare of American Idol reject Jennifer Hudson. (Seriously, have you seen Tina on her Topic A show? What up?)

"People have been waiting for Tina Brown to write a book for more than a decade," said Jonathan Karp, editorial director of Random House. Yeah, me and this one other dude certainly have. And publishers wonder why they're broke.
