No corporate beheading is complete without an email assuring everyone that it was the beheadee's idea to "step down" from the guillotine platform. It doesn't seem that E! employees are exactly throwing themselves in front of buses in a show of solidarity; says one, "This is the best thing to happen to company morale in years." Maybe she would've been better loved if she hadn't supposedly taken away everyone's paper cups for coffee and water to fatten E!'s bottom line?

The email is reprinted after the jump. At least she's letting everyone out early for Memorial Day Weekend.

The attached press release was sent out by Comcast and E! late yesterday. As it details, I have decided to step down as President and CEO if E! Networks later this year. This is a decision that I have been thinking about since Lukie's arrival and that I have been talking to Comcast about for the last few weeks. Comcast has asked me to continue to run the company while they begin the search for my successor. I agreed to stay on board as long as they need me to ensure a smooth transition for everyone on the team.

It has been a pleasure and an honor to work with such a talented and passionate team here at E! Networks. Together, we have accomplished many great things over the 4+ years that I have been at E!. The company has never been more dynamic or successful. When I do leave, I know that the networks will be in great shape because of the terrific management team that we have at E!. The press release speaks glowingly of the exceptional performance of our company and that is due to the hard work and dedication of the entire E! team.

I have made many friendships here that will last for the rest of my life. I hope to get the chance over the next few months to personally thank each and every one of you and to wish you all the best in the future. If I don't talk to you before, please feel free to come and chat during the Summer Party.

Thanks again for all of your hard work, friendship and support.

Best,

Mindy

PS: In case the email did not already go out, we will be closing at 2pm today so everyone can get a head start on their holiday weekend. As always, please check with your supervisor in case of a production conflict. Also, a special thank you to those who work the holidays to keep our networks on the air and our websites on-line. Have a great Memorial Day.
